Head of the Contemporary Photography Department at Instituto and editor of ZUM magazine
Thyago Nogueira (São Paulo, Brazil, 1976) is the head of the Contemporary Photography Department at Instituto Moreira Salles, Brazil and editor of ZUM photography magazine (revistazum.com.br). He is currently working on a big retrospective exhibition of photographer Claudia Andujar to open on Dec, 2018. He has curated exhibitions and edited catalogues of William Eggleston (A cor americana / The American Color, 2015), Claudia Andujar (No lugar do outro / In the place of other, 2015), Corpo a Corpo (Body Against Body, 2017), Mauro Restiffe (São Paulo, Fora de Alcance / São Paulo, Beyond Reach, 2014) and Rosângela Rennó (Rio Utópico / Utopic Rio, 2017). He has guest edited Aperture magazine dedicated to São Paulo photography (2014), and co-curated the Offside project with Magnum during Brazil’s World Cup. He has also curated Água escondida/ Hidden Water, a book project by photographer Caio Reisewitz. He has judged different awards such as Foam Paul Huf, Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson and Fondazione Fotografia Modena.
